STORY OF A ■ GOVERNMENT PAMPHLET. ' "The Review of t.he River Plate," pub. lished in Buenos Ayres tells-a story of a pamphlet which, it states, was issued, and was subsequently called' in by the New Zealand Government. "Tho Review", says:, "We. wonder who is the official Spanish translator 'to tho New Zealand Government ? We are led to make this, inquiry., from the fact that a fourleaf pamphlet has come our way, which was published in English and what is meant to be Spanish' by the New Zealand Government. This pamphlet was issued foi distribution at the Agricultural Exhibition, and was entitled 'Brief Notes on New Zealand Products.' " "The Review," for tho. entertainment of its readers, reproduced one paragraph of the English and also gave the translation as it appeared. "The issue," adds "The Review,' was' called ill as i soon'.as possible. It was Furnished bv John Mackay, Government Printer, Wellington, and the issue was 5000." ' The Euglish portion of .the pamphlet was a soberly-worded advertisement for New Zealand's products. The translation, the "New Zealand Herald" is assured b/ an Auckland gentleman who has tried his hand at translating it back into English, would be a staggerer for any Spaniard,
