ANCIENT STATUTE QUASHED, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, December 14. Tho High Court affirmed by a majority that the statute, of Anne invalidating notes, bills, and mortgages given as consideration for gambling, is non-existent in this State. Two decisions given by tho Full Court had hitherto been contradictory, the latter being to tho effect that tho statute had not been, repealed. This was oppealed against.
