WOMEN SYMPATHISERS WITH ME, ' MASSEY. ADDEESS. PRESENTED. A few days ago the Women's ljranch of tliG Political Reform League passed & resolution condemnatory of tho underhand attempt made to place on Mr. Massey and the Opposition some share of responsibility for an attack mado on Sir J osepli Ward in a pamphlet reviewing the circumstances ot his bankruptcy in the early 'nineties and touching also on other matters of a more personal nature. This address reads as follows:— W. F. Massey, Esq., M.P., Franklin Electorate, Auckland. Mr. Massey: We, members of tho 'Women's Branch of the Eeform League, and- other women anxious to see the honour of members of Parliament' upheld, wish to express our deep sympathy with you and members ot the Eeform party in Parliament in the scurrilous' and underhand attempt made by innuendo and inference to fasten on you and jour party some shara of responsibility for the publication of the "Black Pamphlet." The members of the Reform League, and the undersigned, feel that, in face of the facts disclosed during "the discussion _in Parliament as' to the authorship of this publication, that the aspersions sought to lie cast 011 the Eeform party are wholly contemptible and cowardly, and without the slightest warrant . or justification. . . We are, etc. The 'address was forwarded to Mr/ Massey yesterday..
