Tho weather, has be|n _ sultry in many parts, and rain has fallen in most districts of the South Island and in places on the west coast of the North Island. Moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, and the barometer has .fallen steadily, except in the far south, whore a slight rise took place in-the night .Present indications are for rain and misty weather in most parts of the country, and thunderstorms in places.'
