Easterly wines navy prevailed over the North Island, and gales aro reported this evening in the farthest north. A northerly rale is reported at Kaikoura, but in other parts of the South Island the winds are still moderate Present indications - arc lor a falling barometer everywhere with strong easterly and northerly winds. Worm and hazy wcathor generally, hut unsettled soon in the extromc north and south, and a chailgo in conditions may bo expected elsewhere within 3b hours. -. D. 0.
