GOADED INTO RESIGNATION.
THE PLIGHT OF RAILWAY MEN. (By Telegrapli.-Special CorrcßDondcnt,) Wanganui, November 26. ■Both divisions of the railway service ill Wanganui are up in arms against 10 of the Railway : Amendment Bill, No. 2, and are forwarding strong protests against it. "Boiling with indignation" is described as the state of mind of railway men at tho attempt of tho Minister, for Railways to interfere with tho salary scale, and other statutory rights of tho service, and it is stated that, in. consequence of the present administration of the.Department, there- aro constant resignations from the permanent staff, thoro having boon no fower than, twenty-five on this section during tho past three months. Tho "Herald," a Government paper, referring to tho matter, says that tho Minister would be well advised to givo heed to tho storm which ha lias created, even, if unable to distinguish tho merits of the case.
