' ' OAMARU HARBOUR LOAN. , According to a return laid upon the table of the House yesterday with respect to the OaniP.ru Harbour Board loan,, the Receiver for the loan was tho ' Trustees and Executors' Agency Company of Dunedhij which lias been acting since 1894. The amount paid to bondholders since that time is £6000, and the amount charged for commission by the Receiver. £4938 Bs. 9d. The Re- ; " ceiver's solicitor's costs have amounted to £496 ss. 9d.' The above figures are up to the end of December, 1909. ' CONCERNING A COMMITTEE'S l REPORT. The Public Petitions Committee, re« porting yesterday on the petition of Robert M'lntosh-, of Clyde, Otago, for an inquiry before a warden or other competent person into all matters connected with the application by F. W. Furkert, on behalf, of H.M. the King, for a -.- license., for a water-race for 100' heads',' of water from the Loganburn, says it has no recommendation to make. Messrs. Scott (Tuapeki) and Allen (Bruce) took exception to the report. Mr. Allen said it was too late to.move that the report be referred back, but he understood the committee had reported as it did because it did not wish to review the Minister's action. Tho inspector was being sacrificed in order to avoid reviewing the Minister's conduct. . ■ The report;was laid on the table. JOTTINGS. Mr. Hall, M.P., waited upon theMinister for Internal Affairs 'yesterday, and_ urged the'early sanction, of the Minister to the "completion, of the drainage' system of DannevirkeßoronghJ The Minister said'he would sign the 'plans and. at once issue the authority for the Borough Council, to proceed with the work. Notice has been given by Mr. E. H. Taylor to move that in.the. case .of all local bodies' loans the Public Trustee be constituted the official receiver, and that the Government be asked to bring in legislation to that effect. The Prime Minister has promised to co»sider the matter. ■ " •
