ADJOURNED BOARD MEETING.
The adjourned meeting of the Wellington Land Board was continued yesterday, I Mr.. Jas., Mnckenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands) presiding. Also present . were:—Messrs. J. Da warn, 11. T. EUingham', J. Goorgotti, and AY. M'Lennan. . The filial location, of (he mill site for Mr. Carlson at Owliango was left .in the-: Commissioner's liands, aiid also the disposal of milling timber on the parti-ally-burnt area at Oivhango. The ranger reported 011 an application by Miss M. A. Koane (selector of Section 8, Block X, Makotuku) for a portion of the scenic reserve adjoining for building purposes. The. board suggested that,as the-scenic reserve was not niore' suitable than her own laud for building purposes the- selector's best course would. bo to obtain a subdivision and transfer of Section 7 adjoining. • It was resolved to re-offer Sections it and 97, Block YIII, Belmont (Normandale Settlement), 73 and 70 acres respectively, on renewable lease .conditions at a rental of 4J pe'r cent on the • capital values, .mil 10s. and ;£B9O respectively, with ,£2OO 11s. and for improvoments. . Mrs. E. Hcntkrson applied to transfer the lease of her Section 2, Block I, Rangatana Township, 1 rood 15.perches, to Mr. H. \Y. Kooster.—Tho transfer was approved. 11. J. Zohs, applied to transfer his lease of Section 20, llangaweka Village Settlement, to. Mrs. D. K. H. Humphrey, and it wat resolved to approve tho application on the usual conditions. . Mrs. L. E. Sivainson applied to transfer her lease of Section 8, Block V, Apiti, to Mr. A. K Francis, ami it was resolved to approve tlie application. Tho raiiger renorted that no improvements had been effected by Mr. W: Page on Section 2, Block 11, Ruahine, 2510. acres, and that the selector ■ had apparently, abandoned it. The rent being two_ instalments in arrear, amounting to .£125 10s., and no reply having been, received to the board's notice calling .upon him to show cause why the lease should not be cancelled.' It was resolved to declare tho selector's interest forfeited. Xho board further decided to re-offer a reduced area of the land on a suitable, tenure. ■ V ■'..'. ■
The Commissioner reported that the residential and improvement conditions of the leaso of Section G, Block XIII, Horopito West Township, ouarter-acre-, had not been complied with by Mr. Weorge Morris, and that the rent'-was two instalments in arrear, and that no reply had fceen received to the board's notice calling upon him to show cause why his interest should not be cancelled. It was resolved to declare tho lease forfeited. ..
No reply having been received from Hie selector. W. Bevin, the sekotor of Section S, Block IV, Horopito West lownship, quarter-acre, callins; upon him to show causawhv his interest should not. be cancelled for non-naynient of arveas of rent, it was Teralved to declare the leasn forfeited.' ■
The Rnngatana Timber Co., Ltd., wrote-nekine that Section 19. Block IV. It was resolved to leave tbo matter in thn hands of tho Cominission«r to bo dealt with
