A boy named Albert Georgo Matthcivs, aged fourteen and a half years, died at the hospital to-day .while'under'■■chloroform. An opel-atiori for abscess on the back had just been completed when the boy collapsed. CHILD DROWNED IN A WATERRACE. Christchurch, November 23. Marion Catherine Compton, aged two years, daughter of Mr. S. Compton, of Methven, was found drowned at 5.30 p.m. to-day in a water-race running pa'st her parents' house.
