Ideal weather prevailed for tho second day of the Egraont show, and the attend■ance of tho public'was satisfactory, and unquestionably a record. The mam feature of the day's competitions was tho hprses, saddle and horse.. 'and carriage and coaching classes.' Nearly all classes were remarkably strong, both as to the number of exhibits 'and quality. ;■ The judges remarked on . the list... weightcarrying hacks.; They had, they said, never eoen a. better display in any show ring. .'The .following are additional championships:—Draught. ,• entire—Mr. Short's Royal Treasure (imp.), by Rotlieciy j thoroughbred entire—Mr. ■ Vine's oronet. Haere won the principal leapi"g competitions. The butter-fat coraetition; was won .by a Jersey herd, tho roperty of Mr., Harkncss, of Ngaere. lio was also the winner of the herd jriipetition.' .Tho figures show that , the horthorns gave more milk,, but quality . ulled the Jerseys through.' ] "a sire of prize winners.
