—4 — , A farewell service in connection with tho Anglican General Mission was held at St. Thomas's Church, Newtownj by tho Rev. Prebendary Stuart, M.A., -last night, there being a large congregation. 'Prebendary Stuart delivered a- powerful address, taking his text Thessalonians v. 24, "Faithful is Ho that calleth you. . . . AVliO also will do." Ho first asked the prayers of Iho congregation for ' his parish of Stoke-on-Trent, England, and promised his parishioners in England would do the sumo in return. Ho urged those who Imd' attended tho mission to persevcro and bo strong, and "hoped that the mission would be remembered as the beginning of a new period iu their lives. The work thus commenced they' inust 'carry to completion if they believed in tho words of St. Paul and the promises of the Creator. Tho Rev. E. F. AA 7 ynn-Bond, vicar of St. Thomas's, spoke of the gratifying result of tho mission, which would be remembered as a landmark in tho history of the parish and the turning point in the lives of many. Tho choir then sailg "God be'with you till wo meet again." After the service Prebendary Stuart, who leaves for England to-day, spent a busy time bidding good-bye to tho numerous 'friends lio. had made during the courso of the mission.
