TOLSTOY'S MESSAGE.
A EULOGY BY THE TSAR. By Telcgra.pt—Press Association-Copyright. St. Petersburg, November 22. The Tsar wrote on tho margin of tho official report of the death of Tolstpy a eulogy of the count's creations of Russian types of character in his novels. Tolstoy before his death dictated this message: "I am going away, but others remain who understand the purport of tliis life. To tliem bo given tho task to carry out that which I aimed at doing, and failed." Tho body, clothed in peasant dress, and lying in a plain oak coffin, was convoyed to Yasnaya Poliana, where he was born. To-day's burial rites, in accordance with deceased's wish, were without religious ceremonial. Young and old, rich and poor, reverently kissed tho hand of -'Brother Tolstoy." There is keen resentment of tho Church's interdict of any religions observances at tho funeral. The. extreme Right in tho Duma passed a resolution denouncing Count Toystoy as an enemy of Church and State,
