(Bjr Telfijjrapli.—Spccial- Correspondents Wantianui, November 23. The Wanganui Borough/ Council '. w. cently raised, a storm among the. feminine portion of the community by imposing a charge of threepence for any distance on pushcarts carried on the. trams. The' protests from. angry' mothers reached such, a pitch that, last night, the council reconsidered the decision, and decided to allow the pushcarts to be carried free at certain hours, but to retain the threepenny charge outside those hours.' The object of the council is to prevent space, being taken up' during rush times, and nlso to prevent conductors and passengers being.. hampered, in the event of accident. ■
