THE BOAT HARBOUR.
Sir,—The fact that your valued paper is tho oiily one which caters in any 'way for the gjorious sport of yachting urges me to write you in reference to a badlyfelt want at-the Boat Harbour, viz., a landing stage.. Toft are probably aware that at the present time, whenever, wo come ashore for-the purpose of-tendering friends to or from the yachts, our dinghies have to bo brought in to the sloping concreto-bays for the ordeal of the reception or discharge of our visitors. Tho concrete banks and wooden skids are generally, and naturally, in a most slippery state,- owing to the green slimy growth, and there havo been repeated :accidents attributable thereto. Generally the trouble' is confined to a - shock, or slight cut or braise, but very often it means at least-partial immersion in the sea water, wbich-is a thing not to.-be desired'by ladies in summor finories. Speaking for the yachtsmen, we ourselves do riot mind tho inconvenience, but when it means that our parents or friends must refrain from joining us in ' our jaunts, owing to having to negotiate thoso -concrete, banks, >we • desire the inconvenience to cease, and year assistance in the ;matter l ,woulili,be, appreciated by thoso 'yachtsmen whorhave'-been paying heavy rents for an incomplete "homo" for some timo past.—l am, etc.. "GUNWALE UNDER." A' number of letters have been unavoidably lield over.
