A message was received from the House if Representatives agreeing to the amendnents made by the Council in the Local 3odies' Loans Amendment Bill,' Secret commissions Bill, National Provident ?und Bill, and the Taranaki Scholarship; Endowment Amendment Bill. ' FINAL STAGES. Tho New Zealand Loans Amendment 3ill and the Old Age Pensions Amendneut Bill were put through committee. ir;\ reported without amendment. Both Jills were read a third time, and passed. Tho Harbours Amendment Bill was reac i third time and passed. TAIERI LAND DRAINAGE. Tho Taieri, Land Drainage Bill wa: eferred to the Petitions Committee, wit! nstructions that it should be reportei v'ithin forty-eight hours. The Council rose at 9.15 p.m.
