The Wellington Wednesday competitions were resumed yesterday on a good batsman's wicket. In the match Union v. Oriental, the former had rather an easy, win, this being due to the fine batting of Waters and M'Gill, who compiled 79 and 72 respectively. The result 2. was a victory for Union by ten wickets and 3 runs. In the match Rivals v. Artillery tho former eleven were unfortunate in not gaining a four-point win. Darroch, bowling for Rivals, took six wickets' for eight runs, a very creditable per- ' 9 formance, considering that he was "throw'd ing them up" on a batsman's wicket. =s Tramway, playing for tho • first time against Vivian, gave a very creditablo display, dispatching the latter for a total of Go runs. Hull played a good innings of 42 runs. , In the Junior grade, the chief featuro of the match, Oriental v. y, Artillery, was the. fine bowling of .Kinnear, who took five Artillery wickets for 2 runs..
