Complete arrangements have been made for the floral fete, which, is. to be lnld on Thursday next, on the old show grounds in connection with, Si/Matthew's Church building fund. ' A very fine programmo of sports, etc., has been , arranged. Eleven new members were elected to the Masterton A. and P. Association at the meeting on Saturday last. Saturday was • the hottest day.'; experienced in Masterton this season. The thermometer, at noonj registered 78 'degrees. Mr. James Maxwell, while shearing at Matahiwi, sustained an ugly flesh wound. By some mischance the point ,of the blade shears which he iras using penetrated the leg behind ; the knee, and caused injuries ' necessitating ' medical treatment. ,'■.■'.' ■ Two further charges of breaches of the Licensing Act are to be investigated in Masterton this week. Bandmaster Hutchinson, of the Musterton Municipal Band, has bean presented by the junior players.of the band with a silver-mounted ebony baton, in recognition of his services in helping them with their musical studies. :■•', . 'The cricket match between Masterton arid South Wairarapa . was concluded on the Park Oval on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Masterton by 57 runs. ■During last week 1350 bales of wool were dispatched from the Masterton railway station. The Territorials continued their olassfirins and target practice' at Te Ore Ore on Thursday and Saturday last. The Opaki Eifle Club fired in their first trophy competition at the Fairview ran<*e on Thursday.
