A NEW COMPETITOR.
VENEZUELA IN TEE MEAT TRADE. The 'New Zealand High Commissioner reports from London, that a new country has just entered into the meat export trade; a consignment of frozen, beef has recently teen shipped from Venezuela to Liverpool. This shipment, which it is stated consists of nearly 2000 carcasses of cattle, was due to arrive about the end of August. It will be _ interesting to hear further from the' High Commissioner respecting this shipment, and: it seems that more, information is to he forwarded, as it is Etated:in the monthly publication of the Department' that inquiry will .be made concerning the 'quality and condition of the meat on arrival, and a report will be_ forwarded as to the success of the shipment and the prospects of future ship-.
