THE RUSK TO AUSTRALIA. ' A hlrn Prepared by the Live Stock and Heat Division of tha .New. Zealand Department of Agriculture states tliat the number of horses exported from the Dominion to Australia during the year ending March 31, 1910, was 1972. There were 152 stallions, 1090 mares, and 730 geldings. : The oxport has, since April 1 last, been on an even larger scale, and it is still proceeding. The, weekly shipments of horses are limited in number only by the amount of accommodation available on the inter-colonial steamers. The' Departmental report attributes the demand to the extraordinary development of; agriculture in the Commonwealth." |
