The rush for gold-mining properties throughout the length and breadth of the Southern Cross field is increasing rather than abating (says the Sydney Telegraph" correspondent). During the last 15_ days no fewer than 300 applications have been received at the local registrar's for properties, many of them being for mines long ago abandoned, but which are considered by competent authorities worthy of thoroughly testing. Many of the best of these are being offered to the Eastern States, viz., the Excelsior, eloso to town, Lord Cardigan, tho Cornishman, at Kennyville, the Springhill, at Parker's Range, also an.excellent •property, which is about to be offered. The track between Southern Cross and Bullfinch is now a long procession of traffic,. vehicles of all sorts, men of all kinds, mounted and on foot, motor-cars and bicycles. Within the last week Bullfinch has undergone many changes. Large stores and a dining-room are being erected. Solicitors, commission and mining agents are established, and operating in full swing. The Bullfinch is now a typical mining town, bustling with life nnd activity.
