INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
„ Tho quarterly and special meeting of tho Wellington Provincial Industrial Association Svas held ju the rooms of the secretary (Mr. H. F. Allen) last evening. Ihere were present :—Messrs. E. Bull (president), T. Ballinger, L. B. Partridge, Hardie Shaw, Gaudin, T. S. Young, H. Reid, L. Jones, N. Martin, A. Blanton, Campbell, J. D. Anderson, Kupli, W. Helliwell, J. Kirkwood, and G. Norton.. At the outset there was not a quorum present, ,and tho secretary announced that he did not know whether they should not approach the Government with a view to reduce the quorum, which was a most ridiculous one. Even with an institution with a high membership it was difficult to get a quorum of 20 members to attend a general or special meeting. In the case of an ordinary meeting the quorum was only a third— eight-m regard to which there was no trouble. The chairman said it was a matter that might well be looked into. Messrs. M'lcod Bras., of Dunedin, were elected members of tho association. The Frimley Company wrote thanking the association for its letter of sympathy over the loss sustained by the recent heavy frost in Hawke's Bay. They hoped, with what had been saved, and with tho assistance of the help offered from other parts of New Zealand, to be in a position to fulfil, all orders. Accounts totalling £17 2s. 2d. were passed for payment.
