The secretary of the Wairarapa and East Coast A. and P. Society (Mr. H. S. Moss) has' written on'-the: subject,'and' his letter' contains the following :—"Our stationmaster wrote to me that he would be prepared to-take ■ stock jat any;hour during the nighf;'? and jfw'oi'.men '.we're on- duty all night for. that purpose, and a horse, was in readiness for moving trucks. A. few ; ! exhibitors'availed themselves of tlft stationmaster's kindly offer. Others started retrucking at 3.30 a.m. until 6. The train left nearly 30 minutes behind time. My society did not anticipate that .there would be any long delay in the exhibitors' return journey or they would certainly have approached the Department .with a'.view to securing speedy transit.
