Mr. Joe Dawson, in a Maroon car, won a 200-miles automobile race at Atlanta, Georgia, in ,2 hours 51miu. 12sec. • . T . Mr. Ralph Mulford, in a Lozier car, was 3 l-ssec..bohiud. Tho contestants were stopped twice by lost tyres. The winner takes tho Atlanta trophy. There were eleven starters. RACE ACROSS THE DESERT. (Rec. November 7, 0.35 a.m.) New York, Novomber 6. Fourteen automobiles have started from Los Angeles (California) on a raco of 450 miles across the desert to Phoenix, Arizona. Tho roads to bo traversed ,are the most dangerous over attempted by motorists. Tho motors will bo ferried across the rivors on roirte. i
