Consequent upon tho largo "increase of killiu;; necessary to supply additional demands, the City Council last evening decided, ou the recommendation of its Abattoirs Committee, to give effect at once to the, suggested scheme of additions to the Municipal Abattoir, drafted by the'city engineer. These include Oio extension oi thu stormwater culvert, the construction of a large receiving yard'for oattlo (to be Partly covered), flic construction of additional covered sheepyards, a building for cleaning and boil-' ing (complete with boilers and equipment), additional hangers for beef and mutton, additional-gates, Food-racks, etc., and tho extension of the water-supply, electric light, and', drainage..
