AMTOAIi CATTLE FAIR. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd. (Palmereton branch);- report:—At our annual cattle fair at Palmerston North on Tuesday close on 3000 head were yarded. Competition lor srown bullocks was particularly keen, and every pen was sold. Bidding for several pens of the .rougher sorts of young cattle lagged slightly, but any line that passed soon found buyers, and, at the end of the day, only 200 head of the total yarding went out unsold. Quotations':—Forward bullocks, £6 13s. to £7 Is.; three-year bullocks, £5 10s. to £6; twoyear steers, £4 10s- to • .£<! - 125.; yearling steers. £3 ss. to £3 10s.; well-bred Short horn yearling steers, on account of Wilson Bros., £3 17s-; yearling Hereford steers, on account of same owners, £J 19s. 6d.; rough yearling steers. £2 15s. .to £3; fif-teen-months dairy heifera, £2 16s. to £3 10s.; flfteen-months half-bred Jersey heifers, £3 18s. to £4 65.; two-year dairy heifers, £4 13s. to £5 Is.; small yearling steers, £2 9s. to £2 12s. 6d.; weaners, 28s. 6d. to 395.; fat cows (prime), £8 135.; fat cows (light), £5 15s. to £6 2s. 6d.;.forward cows, £3 - 15s. to £4 ss. 6d.; two-year Hereford heifers, £4 Bs.; storo cows, £2 to £3 We.
