It was agreed that the secretary's action be confirmed. , The Port Nicholson Club forwarded a resolution suggesting that amateur ath< letic clubs should contribute iSlannually and harrier clubs 10s. annually, towards • a fund to be expended in sending Nesr Zealand athletes to -compete at the Olympic games. The secretary stated that in pursuance of a suggestion from the New Zealand Council he had circularised the affiliated clubs asking if they approved, a. proposal to- raise funds to send New Zealand competitors to the Olympic games, by making; a small annual levy of 3d.-or 6i en their members. Replies received from three clubs opposed the proposal, three : - approved i it, and-one club was drilling to endorse any'course approved by ' the centre, lit was finally decided, by five> votes to three, to suggest to the NewZealand Centre that affiliated clubs with 50 mombers and-over should-'contribute-.£l annually., to the fund, cluba of lessthan 50 members 10s.; and harrier clubs ss. ' : The Wairarapa Club applied for a pro-' vincial championship to be competed for at its meeting to be held on; December 27. . The Manawatu Club asked that a provincial championship be allotted at their meeting: to be held early in February next.. Both applications were -held over until next meeting, pending further applications for the allocation' of championships. . • ; It g-as agreed to set aside an annual sum as a contribution towards the expenses of a harrier-team competing-in the New Zealand cross-country championnhips. ■•-'- It was decided that the centre.donate 10s. 6d. to the fnnds of the T.M.C.A., and that the association.be thanked for granting the centre in the past the- use of a- free meeting. room.
