A, return was laid on the table of the House of' -..Representatives ■ yesterday shewing the number of sections of' •laad,- cither' Grown or lands for settlement; opened up during the twelve-monthly periods ended March 31, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909, and 1910, iilso the total number, of applicants who applied for land during each of the - above periods,and the number of successful applicants. The return reads:— . The return is confined to lands dealt with uhder settlement conditions only., Lands offered for sale by public auction as pastoral runs and miscellaneous leases etc., are not included. ■
