The man also 'entered two other places and fruitlessly offered money to the inmates to hide him. Finally he escaped pursuit. Ho thoughtfully removed a gold watch and chain from the pocket of tie waistcoat before annexing it, but in an abandoned overcoat a sum of five pounds in cash was discovered.
