MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

: 6 There was a good ■ attendance at the Missions to Seamen Institute last evening, when the weekly ambulance meeting was held. Mr. James Moore, themissioner, gave several demonstrations showing the methods of stopping bleeding arteries or veins, bandaging a wounded foot, and various other accidents. He also gavo useful hints relating to health matters. Competitions in connection with first-aid work wero held, and won by sailors from ships in port. An enjoyable programme was provided by Miss Upham, the following contributing vocal and elocutionary items:—Mrs. Lindsay, Misses Upham and E. M'Eldownie, and Master Upham. Miss Upham played the accompaniments. A hearty vote of thanks was given the performers.
