The New Zealand Loan and -Mercantile Aeoncy, Ltd. (Palmerston, branch),- report: —.On Wednesday we held a- most successful sale of dairy stock on account of Mrs. Shannon, of Rangitikei line. The cows were a, first-lass lot, &nd elicited keen competition, cows in milk making'as hiijli aa £17. Forty head averaged £13, and the herd of 65 milkers'averaged £11 165.. The "whole line of cows in-milk, dry cows, and heifers in calf (112; in number, ■ and including several with three teats and backward calvers), averaged £9 7s. Tho youne cattle also realised hipth figures. At Palmcrston North yesterday we had -a fair yarding of sheep and a neavy entry of cattle. Bidding at auction was somewhat slack for sheop, 'but 'we quitted every pen immediately after the sale. Oattle sold well, and ?. good'clearance was effected,, including several lines\ of bullocks. Messrs. • Abraham and Williams, Xtd.j ; report:—At bur Palmerston North sale yesterday we had a good entry of catUe. Competition was keen throughout the sale for all classes, and all lines wore sold. Sheep came forward in limited numbers, and realised the following quotations :— Shorn fat ewes, 143.
