The officials of the Sandown'Park racecourse' discovered an attempt to tamper with ..the scales. •- A hole had been cut in tho floor- of the weighing-room, thus enabling the weighing machine to bo operated from'below, •••,!■ ■' ■. ■ A set-of carpenter's toojs was left, behind ; evidently the work was incomplete. Detectives are investigating the affair.
