Lnurcnson, M.P., will probably be taken out to the Miranni Mill .during tho day, and from thierc to somo other of tho flaxmills in tho district. It has been suggested that a brake should run from Tokomaru to Shannon for the occasion, Mr. R. M'Nab is likely to bo present. The Flax Employees' Union is interesting; itself to ensure a representative attendance of tho workers in tho district.

'"Standing-room only" was tho order on Wednesday night in the Druids' Hall, when tho local amateurs presented that old favourite, "Our Boys." The following wns the cast of characters:—"Sir Geoffrey Champneys," Mr. F. Whibley; "Talbot Champneys," Dr. Adams; "Parkyn Middlewiek," Mr. J. H. E. Tilling; "Charles Middlewiek," Mr. J. Duggan; ."Kenipster," Mr. V.- Malcolm; "Poodles," Mr. J. Gardner; "Violet Melrose," Mrs. Tilling; "Mary Melrose," Mis-s I. Hughes; "Clarissa Clminpneys,"' Mrs. White; "Belinda," Mrs. May. The ladies sustained their • parts admirably, - and it would bo invidious to specially mention any of'them. ■ Some of tho gentlemen were Scarcely well enough acquainted with their lines. Mr. Tilling's presentation of the nouveau rich Butternian 'deserves special inontiou. The audience was enthusiastic and many who came to scoff remained to praise.
