MORE ASSISTANTS REQUIRED.
A meeting, called by the St. John Ambulance Association, was hold yesterday for the purpose-of making'prelimin.ary arrangements in connection with the collection to .be taken up on Ambulance Saturday (October 29). Mr. C. P. Powles presided. • . • .■ .
The secretary (Mr. J. D. Avery) state<l ■that he had not yet received many offers of assistance, although it was hoped that a sufficient number of ladies would volunteer their services as collectors. A number of ladies present agreed to takecharge of collecting stations, and to obtain the services of. helpers.
It was decided to continue the- practice of. issuing cloth badges to all persons donating a shilling or more. The chairman asked the ladies present to make known among their frientls tho fact that assistance was required, and to induce as many" collectors as possibles to communicate with tire secretary, Mr. Avery. ;;
