(From Our Special Correspondent.i . ' The proprietor and staff, of the Hutt and Potono "Chronicle" tendered » i farewell dinner last evening in the Empire Hotel to Mr. A. J. Elvln, who is about to return to Euglaud. Mr. B. C. Wanies presided. A varied toast-list was gone through, this being interspersed with musical and vocal items. The guest-of the evening was presented with a handsome Petone travelling bag, and a smoker's companion, and Mrs. Elvin was presented with a brooch.
