London, October 25. The trial of Ethel Clara Le Neve,' typist, aged 27, who was charged with having been an accessory after the fact in connection with the Crippen murder, has eudecU :

Le Neve was charged with assisting Crippen to escape, and with having guilty knowledge and guilty intentions. Mr. Smith, K.C., for tho prisoner, contended that tho prosecution had not proved guilty knowledge. He did not call evidence. The jury, after a brief absence, returned a verdict of not guilty. CONTEMPT OF COURT. LONDON EDITOR CHAEGED. London, October 25. Mr. E. DonaW, editor of tho "Daily Chronicle," was charged with contempt of Court in publishing a statement that Crippen had confessed. 1 Mr. Donald proved that he was away holiday-making at the time. The Court fined Mr. Perriss, assistant-editor,- .£2OO, with costs, Mr. Justice Darling stating that publication of the statement had been calculated to prejudice the trial. It was a grave contempt to publish idle gossip; the country was not. prepared to substitute newspaper trial for trial by.jury.
