LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. (Eketahuna branch) report having held a very successful sale on account of Messrs. Anderson Bros., on Monday, October 24. The entry comprised yearling steers and heifers, and 2-ycar steers and, heifers, all off one station- 1 Inquiries for the smaller lot was very keen, and, ''consequently, there' was practically a total clearance. Quotations were as follow Polled x Angus yearling steers, to £4; polled Angus, 2-year heifers, to £3 165.: polled Angus 2-year steers, to £4 lis.; red polled cross steers, to £4 Bs. 6d.; 3-year shorthorn steers, £4 Bs. 6d. to £4 12s. fid.; 2-year red polled heifers, £3 95.; yearling red polled Angus steers, £2 18s. 6d., £3 7s. 6d.. to £3- ltis.; young cattle (yearlings), £2 35., £2 6s„ £2 9s. 6d. to £2 145.; polled Angus steers (smaller), £2 14s. : Messrs. Dalgety and- 'Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sales at Wanganui- on October 19, and at Waverley on October 21. The report states:—At Wanganui we yarded 850 sheep and 200 cattle. Fat sheep were rather duller of( sale than of late, but all other classes were in good demand. 'Cattle'were well sought after, the demand for good young steers being keen. At WaTei-leywo penned 600, sheep 'and a small. yarding /of' cattle, all of. which met with a ready sale.. Wo quote r-At Wanganui—Fat ewes, 17s. 6d„ 18s. 10d. to £1; f.m. eives, with'loo per cent, lambs, 155., 16s. 4d., 18s. Id. to 19s. 5d.; cull hoggets, 6s. lid:; store ewes, 12s. 2d. 12s..dd. to. 135.; 2-year steers, £4-9s. 6d. 'to -£4'105.; 18-month do., £3 11k. ; yearling do., £3 ss. 6d.; weaner do., £2 55.; polled Anguß cross yearling heifers, £3 10s;; 20-month-dairy-bred heifers, £3 17s. 6d.; store cows, £3 14h. ; 2-year Jersey bull, £9 195.; yearling Jersey cross bull,. £4 10s.; yearling bulls, £3 155., £4 to £4 lis.; ftpid bulls, to £3 15s. At Waverley—Fat an<f. forward shorn wethers, 155.; forward woolly wethers, 19s. 9d. to £1; 18-month steers, i'i 55.; empty hoiferß,' £3 lis. 6d., £3 18s. to £4 is., SALE OF STALLIONS. ' Messrs. Dalgety and Co;, Ltd. (Napier branch) report having sold, on account of Mr. J. W. Harding, .5 two-year-old stallions by the champion imported 6tallion' Baron Graceful, to Messrs. Mitchell and O'Brien, Melbourne, at very, satisfactory figures. The stallions will be shipped from Wellington next week.
