I " Mr. Short, the King's Trumpeter, who | was adjudicator at the Ballarat competitions, stated that he would'like to have the Wanganui Band engaged for twelve months to illustrate the kind of musical material that is available in Australasia. Wanganui 152 I Prout's 152 Ballarat City 145 ; B Grade. Tho selections were won by Geelong Harbour Trust Band, and the quickstep by Proufs. C.Grade. Selections.—Geelong Harbour Trust. Quickstep.—Geelong Town. WANGANUI BAND. MOTION OF APPRECIATION. Palmerston, Ootober 24. At a meeting of the North Island Band Contest Committee last night, the president (Mr. J. A. Nash) moved that the N.1.8.8.A. place on-record its appreciation of. tho meritorious win of the Wanganui Band "at Ballarat,-and that a congratulatory telegram be sent to the conductor and Mr. Wade.
