WILL MAINTAIN ORDER HERSELF. BRITISH NOTE RESENTED. (Rec. October 25, 0.55 a.m.) , Teheran, .October 24. The Persian Government has replied to the British Note of last week warning.it that unless tho security of the trade routes was : restored tie British Government would police the southern roads. Tho reply lays emphasis on the bottorment of the country under tho new regime, and states that the Government proposes to collect a ten per centum surtax .through tho Customs to enable Persia herself to maintain order. It considers the procedure outlined in Sir Edward: Grey's note would be contrary to the maintenance of Persian independence. GERMANY COOLS DOWN. A MISUNDERSTANDING. (Rec.
