John William Collins was charged with being drunk in Willis Street on Friday last, and, further, with heing disorderly on the licensed premises of the 'Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, and refusing to quit when;requested to do so. Station-Sergeant ; Darby, stated that there wore several previous convictions against him; He would not work arid frequented .racecourses. Accused, who pleaded guilty to both charges,'. was convicted and fined 405., or soven days' imprisonment, with costs 65., on the second charge, and convicted and discharged ou the first. Annio' Evans, who has many convictions against her, was charged with being-in a state of hololess drunkenness on Lambton Quay, in Wellington, on October 15. She was convicted and ordered to pay 17s. 6d. medical oxponies incurred whilst undergoing ' treatment in gaol, or 48 hours'' impnsonmwit. Fines of 10s. or 48 hours' imprisonment wcro passed upon , James Ashby and Samuel Cameron for being drunk. with forty-five previous . convictions, and Timothy Donovan, with a list of thirty previous convictions, each of whom, had recently served the term.of a year at Pakafoa, came back to bo twice this month, again before the Court. After the presiding justice had admonished them, they wero each, fined 405., with tho alternative of .14 days in gaol. Joseph O'Hanlon, who also had a list of former convictions, was mulcted in tho sum of 405., or 14 days' imprisonment. William Egan .was fined 10s., with tho option in default of 48 hours' incarceration. James Skilling, for a like offence, was fined 55., or 24 hours in gaol. Two first offenders were convicted and discharged.
