PRAYER-BOOK REVISION
PROPOSED FORMATION OF A GENERAL CbiiillTTEß. During the last few months (a' correspondent of the ,"Guardian" "writes) the demand for, Prayer-book revision j; which earlier in the year appeared to' be on the decline, has revived and increased. The subject has been discussed in all parts of the country, and by Churchmen of all, schools of thought, with' tho result that at the point wo. havo now reached the pro-revisionists are distinctly in; a stronger position than they were at ,tho time of the Proctorial elections.', What seems:now to be chiefly needed is not so much a quickening of interest in Prayer-book revision as rather : the union, and consolidation of its many' friends: It is with a view to this latter object that, the Oxford Committee, which was responsible for the Memorial addressed shortly, after .Easter .to the' Archbishop of Canterbury, has decided ■ on ; the formation of a -large General Committee for the promotion of' Prayer-book revision in all its branches.
