-4DIED ON S.S. MOKOIA. ' A PASSENGER FROM •' WELLINGTON. . (By Telegraph,-Press Association.) Christchurch, October 21. A death occurred on board tho ferry steamer Mokoia • early this morning! while the vessel was on her ivay from Wellington to.Lyttelton. ( A saloon passenger, named Julia Stace, 44 years of age, belonging to Pahautamii, who had been committed at Wellington yesterday to Aslibltrn Hall Mental Hospital, Dunedin, joined the Mokoia at Wellington last night in charge of Her brother and married sister. She had been in charge of a nurse, who put her to bed on board the vessel about ,7 p.m;, and administered a sleeping draught before leaving her in chargo of her sister, who occupied the same .cabin. The mirso did not accompany her. The patient passed a quiet night, but her sister found, about six o'clock this morning, that she had died, evidently, not long before, as the body was st'll warni. At tiie inquest concerning the: death of. Hilda Tegley, aged 15 years, a verdict Avas returned ' that tho cause ,of death was peritonitis, caused by. tuberculosis! The " medical evidence' suggested that the tuberculosis was - due to, the girl drinking' infected milk.
