Tho Missions' to .Seamen : Institute was well filled rlast evening, ' whefl' Mrs. H, Blundell provided a delightful - concert. Air. James-Moore, tho missioner, occupied the chair.: • The following -contributed • to. the programme:—Song,' Mr. ,C.. Bliindell; song, .Miss E.'Robertson; recitation, Miss J. Ge'ddis; song, '-Mr.' Partes;/recitation,. Mr. Cummings; song, Mr.; Jacobs. Misses Hardy,'- Blundell, and Robertson played the . accompaniments. Several - choruses were sung by the audicnce, and an amusing. conundrum competition was won by. sailors from ships in port.- During an interval the missioner delivered a temperance address, this resulting in., eight men 1 talcing tho pledge. The performers were accorded a nearty vote of thanks, and refreshments' were dispensed, at tlio conclusion of tho concert. ...

Dr; Find Jay (Minister for Justice), the Hon. D. Buddo '(Minister- for Internal Affairs), tho Hon. R. Mltcnzie (Minister for Public, Works), members of the Legislature, the chairman of . the . Harbour Board (Mr. R. Fletcher), and Mr. Harold Beauchamp (chairman of the Bank of New Zealand), were tho guests of' Mr. C. Holdsworth,. general manager ol' tho llninn Company. ■
