Proofs., of ; claims for back. service -were laid before the - board, on behalf of several l officers of the Government service,- and the claims .were allowed. Tho question' of the appointment of an 'actuary to make 'the triennial -examination of -the fund required. by'. tK© Act was considered, and it was . decided to leave: the matter in.' tho hands; of the. .Government.' Various ; retiring : v.; allowances.'"- and ' allowances :to widows 'juid'ohildren were ; approyed,, as' also refunds of contributions to those who, had left the .service before being entitled to a retiring "allowance. 'Retiring allowances amounted to ,£l'i2o 2s. 8d;, and allowances- to seven nidows and ohil-' dren amounted to £217. .
