John Morris Schapiro, furniture-maker and picture fra'mer, bankrupt, applied for his discharge. Bankrupt recently served a sentence for failing ,to keep , proper' .books of account.. . Schapiro. appeared in person and stated that he. could not get a solicitor. to represent him. (His Honour:' That doesn't matter. The only , point- is that -there is 6ome reference to- 1 a' case of fraudulent preference. Is that settled? , The, Official . Assignee: Yes/ Schapiro had • been proceeded against, under the penal clauses of. the Bankruptcy Act, and had; had. to ;pay the. penalty. j His Honour: Is. there any further, objection to the : discharge?
