The compensation ease, Bank of Australasia against the Minister for Public Works, oonoluded to-day. Counsel for respondent, in the oourser-if a critical review, of the evidence, (jharactorised tho bank's claim as being, grossly exaggerated, and based -on j the 'principle: "Tho more wo claim, tho more we get." He concluded by contending that the Department's.offer of £11X00 was a fair and reasonable. one. The Court, in. a brief judgment, awarded tho bank £13,000 on all counts,.awarding no costs on either side. Tuo total amount claimed was £21,046*
