College : trustees and tho Wanganui 'Education Board where-. ,by the former leases four and a half iores of , sites for -tho now board offices. The technical and infant schools' new. offices will occupy the ;site'whore:.the; college' chapcl now stands, while tho two schools will, have frontages 'to Ingestro: and St. -Hill Streets: The sites, however, will :iioV be -available .till, the -new college buildings are completed: In view-of the fact ;that: the . Education . Department will \be ."relieved "of heavy expenditure in rebuilding these schools, the board intends to ask the Government to guarantee its ..debentures for the amount ; ot the: loan ;.for -the erection of the buildings.., Workmen are now engaged ed in clearing and', levelling the site for the erection of new pipo works on the: land between: Jackson and Co.'s saleyards, and the gasworks. As soon as this work has- been completed, ; an immediate start' will} be:made: with; erection of. that ; . portionof' the build-' ings intended for locking-bar pipe-mat ing.The: plaint, is: now :in Auckland, and will be transhipped to Wanganui. .As 'soon as this'.is installed', the. spiral.pipe!works in Wanganui will be transferred to' the new. factory, " and, /there-, after, both plants will run under the one roof.: V .
