WHITE SLAVE TRAFFIC
CASE OF A WELLINGTON GIRL.

London, September 13. The two men, Aldo Antonius Cellis, 'i'J, describing himself as a Swiss moneylender, and Alexander Berard, or Nicolini, 25, stated lo'bo a French motor-car fitter, charged with procuring for improper purposes threo French girls, and a girl 'from Wellington, New Zealand, known as Doris AVilliams, wero again before tho Court to-day.
Tho accused ware each sontenced to six months' imprisonment, and an order was made that on the expiration of their sentences thoy should 1)0 doporled from tho United Kingdom.
When the. acoused were brought before the Towev Bridge Police Court on July 20, it was stated that tho girl Doris Williams was only 18 years of age. Six months previously she had been employed at a photographer's shop outside Wollington, and used to sleep at a respectable boardinghouse. She was taken to ,a house, in College Street, Wellington, where she met Cellis and a woman named Marie. A number-of interviews followed, and it was ultimately' arranged that'Cellis and Marie should go to Sydney; and she should follow them. Her passage was taken by a Mrs. White, and she then learned that the destination, was Buonos.-Ayres. Eventually the three went to' London. Marie returned to new Zealand, and the end of the story was that Doris Williams became a common woman of _ the streets. The girl stated in her evidenco that the' name she gave was an assumed one. Her parents were living in New Zealand. Sho:was taken to'Cellis's house by a fellow-lodger. She had been on familiar terms with her sweetheart before she met Cellis. She was now living at a home provided by tho police.
