BEECH'S AEROPLANE.
A few weeks , ago tho. model of a very ingenious aeroplane made by Mr. Beech, of Wellington, was .submitted to the public, of- this: city. A company: was formed to biiild a flying machine 1 on tho lines of. tho model. in Sydney, iii order that it could compote for the Commonwealth Government's prize of £10,000 for'a machine built within tho confines of itho Commonwealth that will prove : effective over a certain oistaiice. The capital of the company was £2000, in £10 shares, ,j0 shares being reserved for! any Sydney people that 1 may bo interested in the vrcnure. There is evidence that Sydney people were impressed, with Mr. Beech's idea, for on being approached they mooed a desire to tako over the whole concern, in order to .have control in Sydney instead of Wellington, and offering to reserve for Wellington .shareholders their present sharo value in the now company. The Wellington directors—Messrs. C. H. .Turner, A. D. Bayfield, R. Armit, j. Mills, and Mace —have_ decided to accept the Sydney proposition, subject to approval by the shareholders. Tho outcome of this will probably be that a • new company will bo formed in Sydney, with a capital of £3000 (£IOOO to Tennm. uncalled), and in the. allotment .Wellington shareholders will be given preference to , tako up shares to th-3 number they hold in tho existing company.
