A fire was discovered on the Tysor steamer Indrani aftor she had loaded coal, and was ready to depart from Newcastle. Seven hundred tons of coal in the starboard bunker were found to -be smouldering. Despite tlio largo quantities of water poured in during the day the fire has gained, steadily, and threatens to spread to the main cargo. Much gas was generated, and two explosions took place. . . THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED. '. (Rec. Aug. 27, 0.45 a.m.) Sydney, August 26. " The- fire on the Indrani is out. The damage is considerable, but tho full extent is unknown till an examination has been made. ' : The Indrani is a vessel of 4994 tons gross, and was built at Barrow iu 1891.
