In tho Legislative Assembly, Mr. Woods stated that he knew, of a girl dressmaker in hci' fourth yenr who was getting six shillings a week.. Sho worked four nights a week overtime without pay. She had to buy her own firewood, and when sho went [homo sick through overwork her wages were docked. Another large firm gave fourpenco for tea-money, and the girls were compelled to. purchase the tea on tho premises for Ho regarded it as slow murder.
